Eroticization of children in child abuse literature

Children, particularly girls, have been repeatedly eroticized in child abuse and child abduction fiction.

David Sonenschein (writing in 1998) documents numerous examples from the 70s to the 90s.[1]

Modern "gooner" culture

As the popularity of child abuse fiction has waned in the 21st Century, so-called online gooning culture has become more visible. "Gooning" describes an online culture in which a number of taboo masturbatory fantasies have become eroticised because of the taboo. This kind of deviance fetishism can be seen on Pediverse-adjacent servers such as Pawoo.net, and is often confused with attraction to minors. There appears to be some overlap in the communities, but child abuse fetishism has nevertheless been tolerated in part on sites such as Twitter.com, with accounts collecting sometimes thousands of followers.

In the 2020s, MAPs have ventured into gooning spaces and discovered camwomen and erotic actors who appear to make a living from appealing to gooners and child abuse fetishists.[2]
