Debate Guide: Porn is the theory, rape is its practise

Child pornography increases the incidence of child sex abuse via a normalizing effect.

The evidence suggests otherwise, as does the evidence for adult porn.

However, lets theorize that porn is a 'substitute for action', and that if it does normalize any kind of behavior, it would be in line with the behavior expressed in the child pornography. Thus, most normalizing effects, if they do exist, would tend to be towards non-coerced sex, overwhelmingly common,[1] even in pre-webcam/smartphone CP depicting physical interactions. Of course, more recent research shows the vast majority of such "porn" is solo acts of masturbation filmed by teen girls in their own bedrooms.

Despite the burden of proof being on those who claim that a relation does exist, research will help in justifying claims to the contrary.
