The concept of cognitive distortion describes some ideas or positions - for example the position of a pedophile that children can consent to sexual relations with adults - as a symptom of mental illness, a cognitive distortion, which needs therapy.
Fog critizises cognitive therapy with the following words: "Mind control is an abuse of psychiatry that should have disappeared with the fall of the communist regime in the Soviet Union, but paradoxically enough it still exists in a country that extols freedom and human rights. Cognitive therapy is brain washing. It is a violation of one of the most precious human rights: the right to think freely."
