Fear of Detection

The reason of fear for the pedophile are obvious: He is afraid of the persecution. But in a consentual relation also for the minor there are objective reasons for fear:

• The minor does not want to be separated from the adult (especially in incest cases).
• The minor likes the adult and want to prevent harm from him.
• The minor does not want to be outed.

The fear of the minor depends on the information about the consequences which is available or given to the minor.

The pedophile sometimes gives the child some information about the police interrogation and about standard police tricks to get testimony from the child. This may be useful for the child, but on the other hand can easily raise fear. Not every police officer is holding boys over a cliff to get testimony or misusing his power.
