Ethical Behaviour As Own Interest

It would be hypocritical to reject that ethical behaviour is partially in the own, selfish interest. Yes, it is. Else, ethical behaviour would have highly probably not survived. It is in the own, selfish interest of the pedophiles too, if they behave in an ethical way. There are even special reasons for pedophiles:

• Increasing probability that people who know you and your ethical behaviour will not immediately tell the police if they detect a sexual relation.
• Increasing probability that a boy will not feel abused later.

Based on this observation, our ethical considerations may be considered as hypocritical, as a method to hide our own selfish interests. But, as mentioned, every ethical behaviour has a self interest component. And, the fact that ethical behaviour is in our self-interest makes it more probable that we will indeed behave in this way.
