Comparison Masturbation - Pedosexual Relation
There are really two comparisons:
The Opinion About Harm of Masturbation in the Last Century
which can be compared with the current opinion about the harm of
pedophiliac relations. There is a common transfer mechanism from the
religious description as a sin to the quasi-scientific description as
harmful, without real scientific proof. The harmful results of the
repression of masturbation can be compared with harm caused by guilt
feelings of children because of their participation in pedosexual
relations.
The Experience of the Child
Some of the possible sexual experiences of a child may be directly
compared with masturbation: being masturbated or being sucked by the
adult. The reason is that the child is usually interested only in it's
own lust. Thus, from emotional point of view, for the child these are
often simply variants of masturbation, and the presence of the adult
doesn't matter very much.
As a historian, it is easy for this autor to point out that such
terms as "sexual abuse" and "self-abuse" once referred to masturbation
and that the adoption of such terms made it extremely difficult for
researchers to examine masturbation in any kind of scientific way.
