"In January of 2005, The Salvation Army’s PROMISE initiative (Partnership to Rescue our Minors from Sexual Exploitation) was launched in Chicago to combat sex trafficking of children [...] Strategies for implementing the provisions are developed by members who represent the social service, education, legal, judicial, healthcare, law enforcement and other government sectors thus ensuring a comprehensive and holistic approach. "

The SA has received U.S. DOJ funding for interventions in the area of children's prostitution and "sex trafficking". Working across five states, another function of this program is the training of staff in CSEC interventionism.
