Ephebophilia (also called hebephiliam though they are sometimes distinguished as separate) is an erotic age preference (chronophilia) for pubescent and adolescent youth. It is often used to distinguish an attraction to teenagers from an attraction to prepubescent children (described as pedophilia). A person with such attractions is called an ephebophile (or hebephile). While generally treated as synonyms, researchers connected to CAMH tend to distinguish hebephilia ("preference for 11–14 year-olds") from ephebophilia ("preference for 15–19 year-olds").[1]
