Wikipedia (f. 2001) according to itself:

"Wikipedia is a free, multilingual online encyclopedia project supported by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation. Its name is a portmanteau of the words wiki (a technology for creating collaborative websites, from the Hawaiian word wiki, meaning 'fast') and encyclopedia. Wikipedia's 12 million articles (2.78 million in English) have been written collaboratively by volunteers around the world, and almost all of its articles can be edited by anyone who can access the Wikipedia website. Launched in January 2001 by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger, it is currently the most popular general reference work on the Internet."

In addition to multiple problems with vandalism, "civil" partisan editors and a lack of acceptability among scholars, Wikipedia is known to censor controversial points of view, even when internal policies dictate that they be mentoned. Excluding a number of cases of inappropriate administrative oversight, including Judith Reisman. This administrative censorship is usually carried out in one of three ways:

  • Regular administrators (many of whom are either whipped by or seeking to impress the Arbitration Commitee) will delete content or interpret "community consensus" in ways favourable to their own agenda.

The scholarly consensus on Wikipedia tends to give the project credibility only as a list of primary sources on non-controversial issues.

Sex and children

This general model of censorship is supplemented by other unspoken rules when the topic to be censored is in some way related to pedophilia. This often leads to the banning of editors who administrators deem to be politically unfavourable. Specific censorship of these topics is covered in Wikipedia censorship.

Because of this, most Wikipedia articles that focus on issues combining sexuality with legal minors appear to pathologise the phenomena by either outright condemning them as "abuse", "illness", etc, or otherwise condemn them by using a combination of undue weight, weasel words and patent suggestion.
